Safety
Others strive for safety – we have been living it for more than 10 years. Our operations follow the highest standards in safety. Our demand for quality lies in the origins of our company. As a former 100% subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG with a business priority in corporate shuttling, we draw on our experiences as a business aviation provider, which are comparable to an airline company. For example, we can look back at nearly 30,000 airbus flight hours alone through corporate shuttling between Stuttgart and Detroit. But also more than 12,000 flight hours on our Citation XLS short-range fleet are proof for the highest flight operational competence. We are building upon this experience even after a successful redirection to become an independent, competitive business aviation company, for through our history, we possess a solid basis for the highest performance and safety standards and we are capable of fulfilling these. As such, not only is the maintenance of our aircraft performed in our own maintenance facility, but also the selection, training and further education of the employees according to a stringent quality program. Our company procedures are systematically reviewed and optimized through an internal quality management system.
The positive results of the successful internal safety and quality audits are also reflected in the external audits. In 2011, DC Aviation presented themselves for the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) for the third time. The auditors certified DC Aviation once again with an excellent result.
IOSA is a universal safety standard for airlines – and an international quality standard. The IOSA audit reviews the operational safety and quality assurance of an airline’s operative management and inspection systems. IOSA-certified companies are transparent in their processes and verifiably guarantee the highest safety standards. DC Aviation is setting new standards in this area. Five auditors reviewed 1,000 standards and processes at DC Aviation in all areas related to aviation law ranging from technology and safety to quality management. As in 2007 and 2009, DC Aviation completed the audit with a very positive assessment.
That which is obligatory for airline companies is often merely voluntary in business aviation. With the IOSA certification, we are part of a small elite of business jet providers who have successfully completed these stringent audits.
